Interestingly enough, this has cleared up a few things for me! I actually have a hacked MK I board that I’ve owned for over a decade now. It shares many of the same qualities including the air juggling (ah, Uppercut->Jump Kick->Harpoon->Repeat endlessly with Scorpion) as well as the signature characters floating into the air upon being frozen. I didn’t know what it was called though.. I heard from a local die-hard MK fan friend that it was “Mortal Kombat Kombo”, but I never bothered to verify it.. Perhaps it’s one of the multiple Turbo Ninja versions? Anyways, this video got me to pull out the board to verify and I see  stickers on two ROMs that say “KOMBO” (I’m guessing they are the hack ROMs).
