    Well, there is an upcoming wii slim model in other countries, but it lacks gamecube support.

    Can anyone verify this too, the SNES type 2 lacks the sound card of the original SNES?

    I have a SNES2 I got on my birthday brand new for 50$ at Toys R Us in Jan 1998. Had no game packed in tho.

    the gamecube had a redesign that lacked component output, fail.

      and the new ugly blue Wii has the GameCube ports, and the ability to play GameCube disc removed, which does make it cheaper, but still fail in my book, but at the time of the GameCube most people did not used component output, and the digital switch had not yet happened, so a lot of old CRT TV’s where still floating around, so taking that feature out made sense at the time.

    I have really fond memories of this review.  I once was a very active member at Screwattack, and was an avid user of the blog system back when it was first introduced.  I was constantly on their Top 5 Blogs of the Week list.  I had a series called Forgotten, which was simply about forgotten aspects of gaming.  I made an entry about the SNES2, after buying it at a garage sell.  Prior to this purchase, I never knew of it’s existence.  Norm actually commented on my blog stating that I beat him to the punch & he was actually working on an episode about the same thing.  I always remembered this because I’ve been a fan of The Gaming Historian since before Retrowaretv got their grubby hands on’em! lol So yeah, just a fun memory & a fun episode to watch.

    damn i imported one of these but had to sell it pretty much straight away ..needed the cash. nuts. wish i still had it :(
