    actually the sega master system had memory cards before the neo geo

       Are you sure? I’m very familiar with the system and I haven’t seen anything like that. Maybe you have a little misconception: this Card Slot in the Master System are for actual games, much alike the HuCards for the PC Engine/TurboGrafx. This means that this are ROM, nothing writeable.
