As frustration continues to mount for the tired, dirty, and hungry gang, they stay determined to find retro gold on the last half of their trip to Magfest.

I’m in Virginia, and I work at Goodwill. None in the areas you drove through, I don’t think, though. thanks to there, though, I’ll come in on my days off and grab up stuff. More PS2 and last gen stuff than truly retro, stuff. Although we once got in a ton of Atari 2600 games, with the console. Console was in the box, but the games had no boxes, but had the manuals…

Still, like a 3rd of my anime collection, and a ton of my Xbox and PS2 collection came from there. Street Fighter II V: The Complete Series for $5? Yes please!

You definitely went to the touristy areas. Most states don’t have all the flea markets that Texas does. Middle TN and southern KY have some nice flea markets, though. Lots of good thrift stores, too. I see retro games and systems all the time in Nashville. You should have stopped there.

yeah we mostly went to places along the highway for the most part. I wish we could have visited some flea markets but be were traveling during the week

I too can vouch for the apparent lack of retro games available in the southeast. Who knew Texas was such a hotbed of old video games?

yeah I live in South East Texas and a the 3 main Pawn shops I go to, there are almost always games/systems to find, I also visit a Private Store in Jasper TX and he has some good stuff every now and then. That store is pretty much where I got my jump on my collection ^.^

The PAYNE of not finding any retro games on a road trip. That’s a special kind of hurt I know only too well. Not to mention MAGFest and con’s in general can be a heartbreak too.

Missed MAGFest 10, but I did manage to make MAGFest 9. Once there, I said to myself; “I’m not going to make a grab for ANYTHING until I find (and purchase) a copy of “The Wily Wars” for the Euro Mega Drive.

Awesome episode. Glad you know what it’s like to hunt games in the
East.. it’s freaking hard with reseller jerks grabbing everything and Goodwills and Antique shops not carrying games. Heck even pawn shops won’t buy/sell them. What’s wrong with Pat at the show?

I’m here in Georgia and I can agree.. you cannot find anything even at flea markets outside of resellers. Every once in a while I can find a reseller that doesn’t really know game values but, thats a rarity.
