Oops! Sony leaks GTAV early

With less than a month to go before the game’s official release, Sony has issued an apology following the accidental release of Grand Theft Auto 5 in the European PlayStation Store Friday afternoon.

In a post on the official PlayStation Blog, Sony acknowledged the leak and said they’ve already taken steps to remove any files that allowed customers to download the game early.

“We sincerely apologize to Rockstar and GTA fans across the world who were exposed to the spoiler content,” said the post.

As Sony mentions in their statement, crackers were able to access unreleased and critical information about the game, such as album tracks.

However, it does not appear anyone was able to gain access to play the full game.

Sony and Rockstar have spent large parts of the weekend delivering DMCA notices to any videos of the crack that appeared on social media video sites and GTA blogs.

The crack’s details come as Rockstar announced over the weekend that the game had finished development and gone gold.
