Nice video.  I think I’ll have to give this game a try.  I didn’t have much hope for it myself, and the bad reviews scared  me away.  This game goes for as low as $25 new, so I have no excuse for not picking it up…

  • Gábor Avadí

I bought this game right after watching this review (which I’ve seen like 5-10 times already).

  • Anonymous

I just caught a fucking meteor! And it’s all thanks to your review!
Makes me wish I had bought it sooner though.

  • Jobocan

I was thinking… I do agree with you that we’re probably not seeing a new splatterhouse anytime soon…. but that really sucks since the game ends on a sort-of cliffhanger. Such a shame.

  • Arne

Awsome game and review. The game deserves more respect a brilliant H.P lovecraft fanfic

Are you still doing HVGN? it’s been a while since I saw a new one, I’m hoping for Demon’s Crest for this Halloween

    • Fail

Well, guess what he’s doing for the Halloween HVGN? Yeah, you’ll be happy :P

      • Anonymous

        Really? that awesome!!!!

I wish that Derek do more HVGN episodes, I think that he is the best when it comes to good retro games and its a shame that he isn’t doing regularly

I loved the new Splatterhouse! It was campy, but so much fun, and the gore factor was spot on for the game stood for!

  • D-Pad

Got this game recently…Phase 6 in 1 day.  Need I say more? This game FUCKING ruuules! Seriously. Very good. I’d give it a 8 out of 10. =-)

  • Dio

Only after Halo games have good voice acting??

Mah boy, have you EVEN heard of Legacy of Kain?

From game 1 and onward (Blood Omen 1 in 1997) they ALWAYS used Shakespearean voice actors all along the series. Hell, Dr. West from this Splatterhouse game is voiced by Richard Doyle who also voiced Moebius The Timestreamer

Still dont know why people think that Halo revolutionized anything at all.

    • o.lucas

He did never say that. He said after Halo every Action Game seemed to have a disembodied narrator…

  • Kryjin454

I love you so much :) I waited so long for this game after i saw the first trailer and when i played it, it automatically jumped into my top 10 list of favorite games (and i’m a girl gamer lol). But after playing it then seeing the reviews from the critics, i was in shock that they hated it so much. Thanks for pointing out the exact same good points and bad points i thought about this game. It makes me feel a lot better knowing there are others who love splatterhouse as much as i do.

freaking love this game,  so much fun(when not in loading screen :D )
but you told a lie here, you dont save the world and dont save the girl in this splatterhouse as it ends in an cliffhanger
