Happy Video Game Nerd – Disney/Capcom Games

Your Disney/Capcom videos are among my favorites that you’ve done. I’d love to see you devote an episode or two to some other classic licensed games sometime as well — Willow, The Goonies II and Spy vs. Spy are all among my favorite NES games of all time, and it’d be awesome to see you cover them, as they all seem to have been largely forgotten in the modern era. Goonies II, in particular, could really use some love, as it’s an often maligned game that really doesn’t deserve all the hate it gets — much like Castlevania II and Zelda II, which are among my favorite games in their respective series. In all three cases, poor localizations and cryptic clues cause people to look back on them with disdain… but that was par for the course back in the 80s, and while having to play a game with a strategy guide is kinda cheap, it doesn’t really matter much if the game is genuinely fun, you know?

So is the genisis version of aladin not made my capcom?

    • Neocasko

No, it wasn’t. Plays rather differently too. It was made by Virgin Games. I heard that some of the people responsible for this game are the same ones who would make Earthworm Jim a while later. That does explain the look of the game if you know what I mean.

Put me down as liking Adventures in the Magic Kingdom as well. Have to admit I always was awful at the Pirates of the Caribbean and Haunted Mansion levels… yeah never did notice those powerups on the pause screen. However I loved the racing, mining cart, and space mountain levels and never did think they were excessively hard even as a kid. Now I just got to give it another go and see how the platformer levels are now years later.

Wow! I’m surprised you found Darkwing Duck tough. I find this one doesn’t take too much trial and error.

I like this guy, but gulping wine…. eh not so much…
