    Top-down run/guns are horrible…from Commando to binding of isaac, they’re just all terrible games…not a good one in the list with the exception of the 2 Contra games, which aren’t exclusively top-down.

    I don’t get why you didn’t mention Robotron. That was the 1st overhead shooter as far as I know.

    what happened to Ninja Commando? that was one of the best top down shooters on the arcade and NeoGeo? also Bionic Commando on the NES had some levels as top down shooters.

    That music during the last segment, could swear some of the rifs were from Led Zep, Achilles last stand if I remember correctly.

    The Genesis port of Mercs is awesome. In any event, Sega had enough “love for the project” and devoted enough resources to it to add the Original Mode, with completely new and original levels, which is possibly even better than the arcade version.
