I dont think TC is a BAD game per se….maybe unbalanced, but still fun.
Seems to me that as the line progressed….Robotron- Smash TV- Total Carnage, that increased graphical frippery (the big sprites really reduce the play area) has somehow stripped away the balance and strategical elements of Robotron, whose simple beauty belies a surprisingly deep game.
