Wow – nice find with the CDi.  No good video of that sale I guess?

Yeah, I sometimes cannot really get away with filming some stuff I pick up, regrettably. :(

Oh man, CD-i. I don’t think that even ever got exported here. It’s pretty much my obssession now.

Yeah, plsburydoughboy… don’t get your hopes too high. :)

That is an awesome find on the CD-i, though… I got mine for $12 at a Goodwill, but there were, of course, no remotes. Finding one with even one controller is like striking gold.

I hate how your stupid theme song gets stuck in my head for at least an hour afterward.

    That is all.

I wish we had Flea markets that sell this kind of stuff here in Australia. Even if we did, we would be over charged here as usual :(

There are flea markets that sell that kind of stuff in Australia (excluding the CD-i, that would be a very rare find here). Of course some sellers over charge but that can happen anywhere.

Good call not picking up those Game Gears, Pat. Most Game Gears were made with bad capacitors, so buying em used usually always means you have to replace the capacitors. Not fun. I learned the hard way. :(

Maybe half of the Game Gears I’ve come across or owned have worked 100% correctly. They’re not as bad as Turbo Expresses, but still have a decent audio failure rate.

The later Majesco Game Gears are less prone to capacitor failure and are supposedly better all around – I can’t confirm or deny that, though, since all of mine have been early models with inevitable capacitor crap-out.

You can tell the Majesco models by their purple start buttons, and the logo to the left of the screen has three white bars instead of the multi-colored bars of the earlier models.

      Aha!

Found my Game Gear after 20-ish years, and it simply won’t turn on.  It’s likely the caps, eh…?

Oh man, this is what I hate about living up north. Seasonal flea markets. Closed until April. These videos are the only things I have! (Which upon reflection, sounds quite pathetic) Great video as always.

I can’t get enough of these. Wildly addictive.
