It has come to the attention of RetrowareTV that according to John Bear of the Alamogordo Daily News, the mythical buried mound of E.T. Atari cartridges is going to excavated.

Produced for the Atari 2600, E.T. was widely considered the worst game ever produced and is believed by many to have caused the video game crash of 1983. The Alamogordo city commission approved a contract for the Canadian film company Fuel Industries that will allow them six months to dig up the landfill and search for the long lost buried games.
